About

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! My dog’s name is Astro, and this is his blog. Astro lost his front left leg due to osteosarcoma, and I want to share his canine cancer treatment plan and progress to help others going through the same thing

…or something like this:

Woof! My name is Daisy. I am a two year old German Shepherd rescued from a neglectful home after losing my right rear leg from being tied up on a chain all my life. I’m much better off now am here to prove to others that it’s better to hop on three legs than to limp on four!

  1. Hi, my name is Bella. I’m an 8 year old German Shepherd living the life of a Queen. Recently I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma! That really stinks. Anyway, my mom and dad did all kinds of research to see what the best option was for me.
The finally decided on an amputation with chemo. I had an amputation of my right front leg up to the shoulder on March 31st and spent the next 7 days in the hospital. I was very happy to see my parents and go home with them we all missed each other so much.
I haven’t been doing much but laying around and sleeping but starting to feel better now. I am having a hard time getting up and around I weighed 116 before surgery and 108 after so still haven’t quite figured out all this balancing.
Next week I am going to start chemo and hope that things work out well. My parents love me so much that I just want to get better for all of us.
I hope that other going through this are doing well and look forward to any helpful hints they can give me.

    1. Hi, It’s Bella,
I had my first chemo treatment on April 18th. My mom and I were going for a nice long ride, I was comfortably sleeping in the back seat, in the nice soft bed that mom and my aunt made for me, when we came to a stop and I noticed we were at the hospital, I was not happy about that and let her know it.
My friend who took care of my a couple of weeks earlier came out to the car and helped me inside, they told mom to leave for a while and come back later, anyway it was not a very pleasant day, the doctor had to stick me three times with that darn needle, I just did not want to do that. Once it was in, we did my treatment and then waited for mom to get me.
When I saw my mom, I had a few things to say to her, as a matter of fact for the next hour I moaned and carried on until she finally said, its really hard to drive with you yelling in my ear, so I quieted down.
Anyway the first treatment was not too bad, but the doctor told her next time to give me some anti anxiety meds to calm me down when we come so the next treatment wasn’t as hard. The time I didn’t want to eat for the first day but after that was good. We also started my rehab.
Somedays its kind of fun, I like to go in the water and they put me on a treadmill in the water for exercise. We also do some stretches and some cold lazer therapy. Sometimes I am really tired after that and just want to lay around.I have now had my third chemo treatment, and some good news and my clood levels are good and xrays are clear. Mom was so happy even the techs and the doctors were giving me kisses, saying what a good job I am doing. This last treatment made me feel really tired and didn’t want to eat for 5 days, so now dad is making me chicken, sure did taste good. Feeling better now but we go back in another 10 days for the last treatment. It will be so nice when this is behind us, mom and dad want me to do things with them but I haven;t been up to it.
The other day they brought our bed downstairs so now we are all sleeping together again, such a great feeling, even though they say I hog the bed.
Well, I will be posting again soon. Hope everyone is doing well.
      Love
      Bella
